Hi All Folks.
I encountered following problem
WinXP can't connect Samba_Server but Samba_Server can connect WinXP for
files sharing
WinXP box and Samba_Server are connected directly via a crossover cable as
experiment. Firewall of WinXP is off and ipchains on Samba_Server also off.
(Remark: The WinXP box has been tested via direct connection with a
crossover cable to a WinME box/Win98 box for files transfer. No problem found)
Static IP address
Samba_Server (RH7.3) 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
WinXP 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Workgroup SEC
Name of Samba_Server IWILL
Share folder test
Name of WinXP M40G
Share folder Shared
On Window Exploror. SEC and M40G shown up under MSWindows Network. But
IWILL disappears
WinXP box

Pinging 192.168.0.1 with 32 bytes of data:

Ping statistics for 192.168.0.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
Start Run \\WILL\test --> OK
"The net path was not found"
Start Run \\192.168.0.1 --> OK
WinXP shows up, not Samba_Server. This looks strange to me.
Start Run \\192.168.0.2 --> OK
Popup for password. But I have no password for both boxes. Click "OK"
does not work.
