[Samba] excessive Unique name registration

Hi all,

Samba 1.9.18p8 on IRIX 6.5.5f (with xfs and efs filesystems)

I've just noticed 'nmbd' taking top place on the 'top' listing on one of
our servers.

A quick 'kill -USR1' (to debug level 3) produces an almost continuous
stream of:-

wins_process_name_registration_request: Unique name registration for name JD5000DN<00> IP 212.219.216.75

repeated over and over.

It's a HP JetDirect card (J4169A) with firmware L.22.09 (the most recent
I know of).


Anyone an ideas why a client might try to do registration so frequently
(twice every second)?
