Hi all,
This is my welcome message to everyone in the group, Chaw!
I've recently installed Redhat 7.2 with its companion Samba installtion, if
samba version is so important in this case please advise.
I've set up the standard smb.conf to contain the following
[global]
workgroup = myhome
interfaces = 192.168.1.1/24
hosts allow = 192.168.1 127.
[homes]
comment = My home drives
read only = no
writable = yes
I did the following:
#smbclient -L \\sambaserver
it lists all of my shares without any problems (after it asks about my samba
password)
on NT 2000 and XP machines (Command line):
>net use X: \\sambaserver\homes seasemstreet /USER:alfred
it come back with error message:
error 1024
net work connection can not be established from this workstation.
Note: unfortunately I can not remember the exact message, but that was the
error.
I confirmed of course, that ping is working, so the networking is ok.
but what would be the problem?
Please help me before I lose my remaining 3 hairs in my head.
