[Samba] Problem with timeserver

I included the line time server = yes in my global section of smb.conf and
then kill -HUP <pids of all smbd and nmbd-processes>. Four xntpd-processes
are running on the server (named server2).

Why does 'net time \\server2 /set /y' fail with the error:

System error 1727 has occurred

The remote procedure call failed and did not execute.

What can be wrong? I even rebooted the win-machine to get a fresh
connection to the samba server.

BTW: I'm running samba 2.05
