newbie question regarding domain name in login

I have never had this problem. Are the windows clients in the same domain?
Is the domain name specified in the samba server and windows clients?
Have you walked through the DIAGNOSIS.txt file in the /doc/textdocs or
whatever section in the samba distribution.
