OK gang, I have successfully upgraded from Samba 2.07 to 2.21a on my
Samba/Red Hat v7.1 server. Heretofore known as "homer-01".

But here's something NEW! When I issue the "smb start (or restart)" ONLY the
SMB service starts. NMB does not start after it. I'm not sure if this is
how Samba now looks under v2.21 OR if NMB is simply not launching. If it's
the latter I'm not sure what to do!

Next, the Samba server broadcasts on the network - meaning the icon shows up
in Network Neighborhood on both my Windows 98 and Windows 2000 computers.

It also shows up when I do a "net view" from the command prompt of either
computer.

HOWEVER...

When I double on the homer-01 icon in network neighbor on either Windows
computer I get an error message. Same for doing a "net view \\homer-01" from
the command prompt of either the Windows 98 computer -OR- the Windows 2000
computer. However the error messages vary as follows:

On the Windows 98 computer:
'Error 59: An unexpected network error has occurred. Quit all running
programs, restart your computer, and try again. If the problem persists,
contact your network administrator.'

On the Windows 2000 computer:
'System error 53 has occurred.

The network path was not found.'

I get similar results when I issue the "nbtstat -A <ip address of Samba
server>" command from either Windows client.

While I'm fully persuaded that the SMB.CONF file is the problem I am
pasting it in none-the-less.

Any help you can provide is appreciated! This has been going on for some
time and has a lot of talented Linux people at www.thelinuxforum.com stumped
for about a week or so.
