Win2k password sync

Vincent,

Have you checked your passwd chat parameter? This parameter has to be set on a case by case basis, as Samba uses the Unix passwd program to change a user's password; Samba doesn't have any internal Unix method to change the password. Here's an example of what I use on my Red Hat 6.1 system:

  I am having a problem with the password sync for Samba2.2.1a .Although I seem to have activated all the relevent options in the smb.conf file, Win2K client gives an error stating that the old password is not correct.
