dynamic wins->DNS functionality gone?

I have been looking at the manpage and the 2.2.2 source tree to
find soulutions for dynamic creation of bind zone files. Indeed
there is the wins_hook hint in the cvs changelog. and the
wins-hook in smb.conf. But the menitioned script or program in
samba/examples is not there. is it opsolete? I would like to
provide dns lookup for clients from a samba server, which itself
is not a wins server, but hooks up to the win2000 network with
winbind.

By the way, what is the ./configure option for building the
pam_winbind.so module? I have not yet successed to build it in
one go.
