Speed problems with Samba 2.2.2

Hello all,

I have samba installed on a debian box (testing). The creation of directories 
and files from an NT4.0 box is really fast. But when I try to delete a 
directory or if I right click on the directory it's really slow.

Could you tell me what the problem is?

I have the standard debian install on the box, no great optimizations done.
I also have set the box to let some other computer be the master browser and 
deactivated the wins server, because there is no wins server in my network, 
only dns.
