ERROR: Netpath not found

I can use samba fine if I'm going from my linux box to my windoze box.  But on my windoze box I can't ping my linux box's computer name, but I can ping its IP address.  In Network Neighbor hood I can see my linux computer's icon, but when I double click it I says 

\\Linuxbox is not accessibe.
The network path was not found

I'm running windoze 2000 on my computer, how should I config my system to access my linux box?

My windoze's IP address is 192.168.1.100
My linux's IP addres is 192.168.1.101
