You need to give the 'guest' option to smbmount.

It is however a known bug that smbmount asks for a password even when
given the 'guest' option under some circumstances. If that happens you
could try something like "guest,username=%".

(% makes the username and password be an empty string).


Otherwise wait for samba 2.2.2, or get SAMBA_2_2 from cvs (details for cvs
access can be found on the samba webpages).
