Win2000 and RH 7.1 with Samba 2.0.10 or Samba 2.2.1a

You installed RH 7.1 in the standard way? You have used "medium 
security" during the install? Then RH ships with a software fire wall 
that blocks the ports needed for samba. Look for "ipchains" or 
"iptables" some thing similar. Disable it or configure it not to 
block samba.
