DNS and Samba

Hi,

I've got a very basic question: can I use my Samba server connected to a DNS
server (my Samba is not in Domain, and I want the users to connect to the
Internet using a DNS server as a resolver, but I don't want the DNS server to be
the Domain Controller, and I don't want my Samba running together with a DNS
server on the same machine). Could someone recommend some useful docu (e.g. a
HOW-TO) to me or help me in this question?
