winbindd problemm

Firstly try adding:
winbind enum users = no
winbind enum groups = no

to your smb.conf  On my system that reduced the RAM foorptint of wninbind to
27M from arroud 200M

As to the main problem I would completely sutdown samba (all 3 daemons) and
restart.
