A couple of comments.
testgrp is a valid group?
hosts allow does not allow your wins server. 
If your network is using a wins server, that could be a problem.Don't know.
Why not just get rid of hosts allow and see if the thing works?
pcguest does exist on your linux box?
public is the same as guest ok.
Do you think you are getting into difficulties because of cross network
browsing?
