Might this be another machine contacting this server, looking for store 8?
If you have a windows client on this network, could there be something in
the windows box? (Again, just guessing.)
How often does this occur? Could you take other clients off line for a while
to see if the error stops?
Have you tried to run tcpdump, greping the output to look for store?
You can run tcpdump against lo, to see if it orignates locally (again, just
guessing.)
