2kpro Problem

I am trying to get a Windows 2000 professional client to "join" my Samba
domain and I am having the following problem.

"Your computer could not be joined to the domain because the following error
has occurred:
	The procedure number is out of range"

This happens during the final step of moving the machine over.  I have
usernames, and machine names$ setup correctly (at least it works like that
at home) and this one is really screwing with my head.  There is nothing in
the log files on the Samba box, or the W2k box.  Can anyone shed some light
on the subject?
