Samba 2.2 on debian ?

Won't happen. The only things that go into potato is serious bugfixes
for 2.0. 

Compile it yourself, by putting a line like this in your sources.list:

deb-src http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian unstable main

Then 

$ apt-get update; apt-get -b source samba

Will leave you with a nice deb in the current directory.
