Hi Eric
1. Yes, it's normal; when you start samba, it will start one smbd,
and then any connection to the server will spawn additional smbd's,
one per connection.
2. Yes, if you are starting samba as daemons, you should comment out
the lines for smbd and nmbd in the inetd.conf file and restart inetd.

Hope this helps,
Don

Subject: Multiple samba daemon running at the same time

Hi there,

I have to more questions to ask you. The last one was
resolve, thanks to Simon Allenby and Don McCall.

No.1
Is it normal that I have multiple daemons (ex. 2 smbd
-D daemon running) at the same time?

No.2
If I start my daemons with the "start" command in the
init.d directory (ex. start samba), did I have to
delete the lines in the inetd.conf files?

Thanks again

Eric
