Accessing a SMB Mounted drive VIA FTP

Hello Guys,

I have a small problem access a shared mount to a Win98/2K machine.

I am using -> mount -t \\machine\share \mnt\mountpoint -o username

I then create a symbolic link in my home directory /home/username. When I
FTP in (using Pure-FTP) I am able to access the shared drive on my Win98 or
Win2K machine...But I can upload to it or delete ???? (I can download...)

I have looked every where for this...

can you guys help

I'm using RedHat 7.0 (yes I know) samba 2.2.0, kernel 2.2...
