Password...solved

Hi!
My problem: samba digest, Vol 1 #389 - message #58
Solution: To expel from smb.conf of line:
  update encrypted = Yes
  unix password sync = Yes
  passwd chat debug = Yes
  passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u
  passwd chat = *New password* %n\n *New password* %n\n *Success*

But why it is impossible to change the password with these arguments in
smb.conf?
