Has anyone else run into

A problem with using chkconfig to load the smb file placed in init.d? If I
run /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb start it works, same as lets say the  dhcpd daemon
im running, but doesn't seem to work on boot. Any suggestions? I modified
the file so that if it was initiated with *) that it did the same as start)
and then it starts without me interfering, but this isn't needed in any
other script placed in the init.d directory.  Anyone got a guess on this?
