samba network password

Hi,
I have a small lan.  solaris 2.7, 2.5 and a PCwin3.11.
I am trying from the file manager in the pcwin3.1 to map
solaris 2.7 to "k:". At the pcwin3.1 i get: "enter network
password". I enter the user and root password for the solaris 2.7
but i get invalid password.
what is gonig in here?.
what is work around this?.
