I have it running fine with CIFS9000 1.05 under HPUX11.
But, in my inetd.conf, I have netbios_ssn instead of netbios-ssn. May be it
is the problem!
Do you have any error in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log when inetd starts ?
Have a nice day,

Subject: INETD Question.
I'm currently running version 2.0.7 of samba(CIFS9000). I have HPUX 11.x
installed on the samba server. When I try to run this from inetd it doesn't
work. I can run a startup script that runs the smbd as a daemon and it
fine. But if I try to run it from inetd it won't start. The previous
of Samba 1.9.18p10 that I had on this server worked fine. Is this a bug in
2.0.7 or am I doing something wrong?
here is my entry in /etc/inetd.conf
swat stream tcp nowait.400 root /opt/samba/bin/swat swat
netbios-ssn stream tcp nowait root /opt/samba/bin/smbd -s
netbios-ns dgram udp wait root /opt/samba/bin/nmbd nmbd
I have my IP allowed in inetd.sec to start the service netbios-ssn and
Any Ideas of suggestions why this doesn't work would be greatly apreciated.
