Any chance you have an allow/deny hosts line in your smb.conf?  I remember
something
about reverse lookups causing some intermittent problems, but it's late
night here, so 
don't hold me to it...

Several people responded that this was supposed to be fixed in 2.0.7.
I just upgraded and am unhappy to say that this has not made the problem
go away.  Any other ideas?
