Va: Install Samba on Suse7.1

Hi,

try to run

smbd -D
nmbd -D

Be sure, that this two processes are started (pstree). Now you got a 
running Samba server. With the ( /etc/ or /usr/local/samba/lib/) smb.conf 
you can configurate this Samba server. Good luck!

Hi,

I have the samba-2.0.7 in /usr/local
so, i made

tar xvpfz samba-2.0.7_tar.gz
cd samba-2.0.7
./configure
make make install

no problems
no errors

but i can't start the samba server...
and i don't know how.

any help?
