Hello all,
This my first mail in this list.
We have succesfully setup a samba server at our 1st attempt, next we go in another site and try
the same things but now it seems we got it all wrong!
The facts:
we have a linuxbox (named enlogic) (REdHat 7, kernel 2.2.18, samba 2.0.7)and one winbox
win98se (named ndemou). Our workgroup is localenlogic.
No other PC (not even a Hub because we've tried to symplify things as possible)
we can ping each other (with arithmetic IPs) winbox can ping the linuxbox with its netbios name
but we get an initial long delay before the pinging starts
We can mount from linuxbox the shares of winbox,
BUT: When you try to access the linuxbox you get: a) at the winbox either an access denied or a
network is busy error. b) At the linux logs a mysterius BROKEN PIPE!
>>>We start the Daemons as:
smbd -D
nmbd -D -G localenlogic -n ENLOGIC -H /etc/samba/lmhosts -d 2
>>>lmhosts
