Drive mappings

The %U variable is used by Samba and not by Windows. Note that the login
scripts are actually run by the PC's logging in and not by the server.

You might try
net use \\mail\homes

Homes, according to the standard smb.conf, equates to the user's home
directory.

Hello again list!

I'm attempting to use the following command in a startup batch file:

net use U: \\mail\%U

however when win9* runs this file on logging in, it tries to map
\\mail\u

Why isn't samba preprocessing this directive? (\\mail is NOT the name of
the samba server doing the login authetication!)

Thanks!
