sending shutdown announcements

hello all,

Is there a way to notify PC clients connecting to a UNIX/Linux server via
samba that the server is being shutdown.

I have searched for a method to notify the PC user accessing a shared
network drive via samba, I have not found anything thus far.  Any help would
be appreciated.
