W2K and Samba 2.07 problem

Bad syntax in the smbpasswd line that was given to you.  It should read

smbpasswd -a -m SOLO9100$

OK....here's the result of that:

[root at eagle /etc]# useradd SOLO9100$

[root at eagle /etc]# smbpasswd -am SOLO9100$
getsmbfilepwent: malformed password entry (no :)
getsmbfilepwent: malformed password entry (no :)
Added user SOLO9100$.
getsmbfilepwent: malformed password entry (no :)
Password changed for user SOLO9100$.
