Hide Dot Files option doesn't!

I am running samba 2.0.7 on an HP system running HP-UX 10.20

I am trying to hide the dot files with out any success.

I have the option  "hide dot files = yes" on the share, no errors running
testparm.

Anyone had similar problem? and if so how did you cure it?
