Dan,

Here you have your tuned-up smb.conf
I juste added my commnets&patches and should be easy to 
understand. Before you try it do a "testparm /etc/smb.conf" or 
where is smb.conf to avoid any errors.
It took a while for me to do this, so, if it works you owe me an 
orange juice, if not, I owe you two  :-)
