Hi Samba team

Server Operating Environment:
UNIX server: HP K260 running HPUX 10:20
Samba Version: 2.0.7
Samba compiled using GNU 2.8.1
"User" level security.

Client Operating environment:
Windows 2000 PRO (on Compaq M700) with SP1 (Plain password reg entry
installed)

Samba was recently (3 days ago) upgraded from version 1.8.18P4 to
version 2.0.7.

Now when I connect to the samba server using my Win2K client I get the
following error messages continuously appearing in the log file, the
samba connection drop out, and the connection never re-establishes:

<Error Messages begin > (NOTE: IP and Usernames taken out)

[2001/01/09 15:35:06, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection(550)

<Error Messages Stop>

I have determined that it is mainly caused when "Off-line Files" is
enabled under win2000. When one tries to synchronize files between
workstation and server the above error messages begin appearing and this
triggers the workstation to operate in an "Off-line" state. Trying to
put
the machine back online produces more of the above error messages as the
machine tries to synchronize all files.

I have also managed to reproduce this error when "Off-line Files" was
disabled and I try to get property information on a file.

Any ideas on how to overcome this problem would be greatly appreciated.
