Roaming profiles and logon path in w98

Hi all,
After reading Using Samba and a lot of docs I wanted to use samba as a
domain logon server. I noticed that the use of roaming profiles is changed
in 2.07 and I learned that the [global] option logon path is quite useless
under w95/98. So I used the hint in the DOMAIN.TXT file:
logon home = \\%L\%U\.profiles to make them hidden. But that didn't work.
Samba kept putting the profile files under \\%N\U%\profile.
Then I looked at the output of testparm and it told me that the logon path
was indeed set to \\%N\U%\profile and logon home to \\%L\%U\.profiles. When
I changed logon path to \\%N\%U\.profiles everything worked.
Also, when I used the logon path to point somewhere out of my home dir (e.g.
/usr/local/shares/profiles) Samba set my home dir to that dir (with net use
g: \home). Seems to me that w95 is looking at the logon path option.
Looks a bit odd to me. Any suggestions? Or am I doing something wrong here.
I'll be happy to send my smb.conf to anyone who's interested ;-)
TIA,
Frank
