Not listening for calling name

When diagnosing the problem I have as per TEST3 of
http://ca.samba.org/samba/docs/DIAGNOSIS.html, I get the following:

smbclient -L server1
added interface ip=192.168.0.2 bcast=192.168.0.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
session request to SERVER1 failed (Not listening for calling name)
session request to *SMBSERVER failed (Not listening for calling name)

Can you give me some insight as to what might be incorrectly configured?

I have just installed version 2.0.7
