Hi,
try changing your log level in the global section of smb.conf to something
other than 0.

Subject: samba and syslog.conf
Hi all,
I am running RH6.2.
I have set up samba and I can login from PC1 to PC2 to PC3 etc.
but cannot see my Samba server.
I have this in my /etc/smb.conf but get no logs in samba-log
[global]
; Uncomment this if you want a guest account
; guest account = nobody
log file = /var/log/samba-log.%m
lock directory = /var/lock/samba
I do not get any logs in /var/log/samba/... either
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Feb 18 04:02 log.nmb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 34139 Feb 11 18:38 log.smb
I have no entry in my /etc/syslog.conf
do I need an entry in syslog.conf to get samba to log ?
help is much appriciated
best regards
Mettavihari

testparm result is pasted below.
