Configure errors - 2.2.0 alpha 2

When running the Samba 2.2.0 alpha 2 configure on an AIX 4.3.2 system, with the AIX C compiler, it runs for a good amount of time and then I receive the following error message:

checking configure summary
configure: error: summary failure. Aborting config

I have tried running this both with and without any options for configure.  There are no files output from this that I can find.  No further error information is provided.  Any help will be appreciated.
