You didn't say exactly which 3.0 you are talking about (alphaX). smbmount
is/was broken in the CVS HEAD branch and that is probably true for the
alpha releases too.

One part of the problem is in smbmount (may be fixed in head now, but
probably not). The other is in libsmb that doesn't seem to be working for
dos status codes, which smbfs uses.

Depending on what the plans are for 3.0 this may require changes to smbfs
too.
