Does this roundabout answer mean that the changes to Samba have not been
released yet, or does someone have the modified source tucked away
somewhere?
If the source is not on the OS X cd, who should be contacted at Apple to
discuss receiving a copy?

Yes, they did talk to us. I told them they must release the changes
to Samba as source code. As netinfo is a MacOS/X system library they
don't have to publish that source (in the same way Solaris doesnt'
have to publish libc just because it links with Samba).
