Samba 2.07 on solais 2.6 hw 5/98

I am new to this user group and have not, as of yet, been able to figure out how to search the postings.

My question ...

I would like to run Samba 2.07 on Solaris 2.6 hw 5/98.  One small problem the is no libgen.so.1 on 2.6.  Their is on 2.7 and Solaris 8.  Can I just copy this lib file from the 7 or 8 box or do I need to run a different version of Samba?
