Yes.

samba 2.2.x knows the formats expected by 2.2 and 2.4 kernels, and will do
"the right thing". smba 2.0.7 doesn't, but 2.4 knows about 2.0.7 and
accepts that format too. So all combinations should work, but only one
allows you to change things dynamically and per-mount.
