Problem Accessing Samba Server via Windows

Make sure the UN*X permissions allow the user access to the directory you're sharing.

I ran through the tests in DIAGNOSIS.txt and i am snagged on step 8.  When I
try and map from Windows, I always get an "access denied." 

My main question is: DO I need to add my COMPUTER NAME to the Solaris passwd
file?  

The problem with this is our COMPUTER NAMES are 12 characters and Solaris
only supports 8 character id's.. I log into my windows machine using an
account called ef59.  I added ef59 to the passwd file and to the samba
passwd file.  

Im kinda lost at this point
