Samba, vfat and new kernels: Anyone able to solve the problem?

Thanks for your help. The one you described is exactly the workaround I am
using today, but as I said it is just a workaround :-)
I hope someone will be able to fix the problem at the kernel level (I know
this is a world based on personal, volunteer work, so I do not pretend
anythink, just hope someone will work on this, one of this days. I will do
personally if I had the skill and time :-)
