Can't change password from Windows

I'm having trouble changing my password from within windows (98). I can log
in OK, with Samba as the PDC, but trying to change my Windows password from
the "passwords" control panel gives an error. It says that I have entered an
incorrect current password (whether I try to change the "Windows" password
or the "Microsoft Networking" password). How can it be wrong if it lets me
log in?
