error connecting port 445

Hi all

I have just installed RH7.0 on to of my servers. I want to use it for domain logons.
The one server must be a pdc and the other a bdc. I will also still add about 3 more bdc on the wan.
When i use samedit to ./samdit -S . -U root -W ***** it works.
when i type 
use \\\\servername -U root
i get the following error
error connecting to 127.0.0.1:445(conection refused)
failed sesion setup
cli_net_use_add: connection failed
FAILED
