samba 2.0.7 and windows98

I am sure I am doing something wrong
or I misunderstood something
I tried to uninstall "Clients fo MS network" and "windows filesharing"
on two PCs running win98, reboot, reboot, reinstall clients for
ms network and filesharing and then reboot.
the situation is this one:
the first pc still does not work, I am not able to connect to the server
either setting "windows NT domain on" either not setting windows nt
domain.
I think there is something wrong on this PC, so I think I will have to
reinstall win98.
the second PC:
it works if I do NOT select "windows NT domain"
if I select it, when I write the passwd
at the domain login prompt it complains "wrong parameter"
so probably I misunderstood the documentation.
I am trying to use my LINUX box as a PDC
I am not using any windows NT server
I really do not understand where I doing wrong.
Many Thanks
Patrizia
