error with long share name

Hi!

I got a problem.. I added my users and their home directories, then I configured samba "[homes]" sharing but when I'm unable to open a share with more than 13 chrs.
I tried with windows 98/NT

i.e.

on my linux mandrake & redhat 7.1/6.2 I have this home directory

/home/someone.somebody

in my windows98 explorer the share is named something like "someone.someb"
