Troubleshooting password probs with Windows boxes

I have responded to a few people's Windows -> Samba Server UNIX password
connection problems, the resolution being Samba's need to see the password
passed as encrypted.

Perform a search on 'encrypt' and follow the leads from there.

Windows NT 4.0 with at least Service Pack 3 and Windows 98 both need the
Encryption option enabled in the /etc/smb.conf file and the daemon
restarted.

Hope that helps those with NT and 98 boxes.
