Samba trying a user's other GIDs

My samba 2.0.7 seems to only try the user's primary group
when accessing a folder.  I've turned the loging/debuging on
and I can see it list all the user's groups, but then switches
to the user's primary group upon trying to open a folder. Is
there a setting I can enable to get Samba to try all of a user's
groups; a patch perhaps?  Or am I not seeing something?
