print command and exit status

It seems that the exit status of the "print command" will not be used by 
samba, so that an malformed print command or a problem with the printing 
software, normaly lpr and lpd, will not be recognized by the user.

(Our problem: sometimes a print-job is missing, we dont now why)

Is there any patch available ?
